AI Engineering Accelerator
Turn AI coding tools from ad-hoc experiments into a disciplined engineering system. I review your workflow, codebase and controls, then design a practical agent-assisted development process your team can actually use.
Practical SaaS, security and AI engineering advice from someone who has built software products, run development teams and sold technology businesses — not a slide-deck consultancy.
Designed for founders, SaaS companies and technology teams that need senior technical judgement without hiring a full-time CTO or another large consultancy.
Turn AI coding tools from ad-hoc experiments into a disciplined engineering system. I review your workflow, codebase and controls, then design a practical agent-assisted development process your team can actually use.
An independent review of application architecture, authentication, tenant isolation, secrets, cloud infrastructure, deployment, backups, email, resilience and high-risk technical debt — with a prioritised remediation plan.
Senior technical leadership for businesses that need better decisions, stronger delivery and independent oversight — without a permanent executive hire. Architecture, developers, suppliers, security and roadmap all covered.
Short, outcome-led engagements where experienced technical judgement matters more than adding more developers. Most are billed at the standard day rate, with fixed fees available for tightly defined scopes.
Independent assessment for SaaS buyers and investors: code, architecture, security, scalability, technical debt, team risk and operational maturity.
Review and fix fragile AWS/GCP deployments, IAM, secrets, deployment pipelines, backup gaps, tenant isolation and security weaknesses.
Take a strong product idea from scope to working SaaS MVP using a tightly managed, AI-assisted engineering workflow instead of a bloated project team.
Step into delayed or drifting software projects, establish what is really wrong, simplify the plan and get delivery moving again.
I work at the point where commercial reality meets engineering. That means understanding what should be built, what should be secured, what can be automated and — just as importantly — what is not worth doing.
I’ve spent more than 25 years building software, delivering development projects and running technology businesses. I’ve also sold businesses, so I understand the commercial side of technical decisions — not just whether something can be built, but whether it should be.
Today my work sits across SaaS architecture, information security, cloud infrastructure and AI-assisted software engineering. I’m most useful when a founder or management team needs an experienced independent view, fast.
Usually not. The focus is senior, high-leverage work: diagnosis, architecture, security, technical leadership and targeted implementation. I can help deliver where needed, but I am not positioning SLR Soft as a body-shopping agency.
Yes. Most engagements are designed to strengthen an existing team: clearer architecture, better controls, better use of AI tools and independent oversight of delivery.
Yes. Technical due diligence can cover product architecture, source code, security, infrastructure, scalability, development process, technical debt, operational risk and key-person dependencies.
Yes. Most work can be delivered remotely across the UK, with on-site time arranged when it materially improves the engagement.
My standard consultancy rate is £1,250 per day. Where the scope is clear and well defined, I can also quote a fixed fee. Fractional CTO work is usually structured as a monthly retainer.
Send me a short outline. I’ll tell you quickly whether I can help, the likely time commitment and the sensible next step.
